There was an International Language Day event on the 28th of March, 2019 in the York Hall at The Borough of Tower Hamlets.
It is an annual event attended by the staff of the Municipality of Tower Hamlets, schools representatives, guests. More than a thousand participants and spectators attended this event this year.
Winners of a writing competition “The Importance of Learning New Languages”, organized by the Municipality of Tower Hamlets The event were awarded. More than one hundred entries were submitted to the competition.
Saulė Gagilaitė, the eighth grade student of the EC Lighthouse Lithuanian School (Shadwell), won the second prize at the essay contest. She was awarded by the Mayor of The Tower Hamlets Diploma and she also received a gift voucher.
EC Lighthouse dancers appeared in the concert program. They were awarded a Thank You Note and a Gift Certificate by Mayor of Tower Hamlets.
