About us
EC Lighthouse is located in United Kingdom and it has three different departments:
- Lithuanian school in London, Shadwell;
- Lithuanian school in Grays;
- Dance studio in Barking, Broadway theatre.
EC Lighthouse is officially registered as a supplementary school that is guided by the school constitution, UK legislation and educational programs and recommendations of the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science. EC Lighthouse is taking part in both UK and Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science projects and events.
Lessons of EC Lighthouse Lithuanian school in London (Shadwell) are taking place on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. Lessons of EC Lighthouse Lithuanian school in Grays are taking place on Thursdays from 4.30pm to 8pm. Dance lessons are taking place in Barking on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30pm to 9.30pm and on Fridays from 6pm to 8pm.
Anyone from four to sixteen years old can study in EC Lighthouse education centre.
Students of EC Lighthouse Lithuanian school have an opportunity to take a Lithuanin language exam and a Standartized Lithuanin language test that is organised by the Ministry of Education and Science and Lithuanian National Examination centre. In addition, students can have an exam evaluating level of Lithuanian language knowledge that is organised by Vilnius university.
Dancers of EC Lighthouse Dance Studio can have British Art Council’s dance exams.
National Resource centre for Supplementary Education has awarded EC Lighthouse Lithuanian School with a Gold Quality Framework Award for it’s work and various achievements.
The school maintains close cooperation with the local council, The Museum of London, The British Museum, Riga’s Lithuanian Secondary School, Gymnasium of Vilnius Lithuanians’ house and other schools and institutions. The school takes part in various local and international competitions. EC Lighthouse Lithuanian school and the students of the school has been awarded with many various awards.
Culturally educational activities are very important to us. There are many visits and meetings with interesting and important people such as historians, writers or producers.
Students occasionally have history lessons in museums. Lessons about the history of the country can also sometimes be held when visiting castles, not only during lessons.
The EC Lighthouse Educational Centre is trying to make sure that every student feels safe at school and has an opportunity to achieve the best possible results. Every student should be able to finds it’s talents and should be able to grow creatively in the provided environment.
