The International Writing Competition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania ‘s independence
The aim of this competition is to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania’s independence and to encourage student’s interests in Lithuanian history and present. We have invited students to write an essay about Lithuanian history, present and to evaluate processes that are currently happening in Lithuania as well as to write about Lithuanian people place in nowadays world.
We have received 66 essays from Ireland, Belgium, USA, UK, Luxembourg, Russia and Germany.
There were three prizes for students that took part in this competition. 1st Place – Mr Justinas Gecas (Private Lithuanian Gymnasium, Germany), 2nd Place – Miss Alma Planciunaite (European School of Luxembourg), 3rd places – Mr Rokas Snarskis (European School of Brussels) and Mr Aiden Genender (A. Kazickiene Lithuanian School, USA).
Organizer – EC Lighthouse, patron – Lithuanian Embassy in UK, founders of the winners prizes – Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and Lithuanian Embassy in UK.
We are very happy with the results of the competition and the essays that were truly inspirational.
